Rochester,

"Mayo
Clinic, founded by Drs. William James Mayo and Charles Horace
Mayo in the early 1900s, has made Rochester renowned. What
began as a family practice turned into the world's first
private integrated group practice when the Mayos and their
partners acted as a team to diagnose and treat patients. The
practice grew quickly, and Mayo Clinic is now known for its
advanced technologies and firsts in the world of medicine. The
clinic established the country's first blood bank in 1933, and
in 1950 its doctors earned the Nobel Prize for the discovery
of cortisone." - AAA North Central
